This has been an hectic week, no free time to blog which means that am late with my Music in Pictures contest, and with everything else…
The choice for this week is ‘The show must go on’ by The Queen. Yes, I know. It’s not easy to put this song in pictures, but if it wasn’t challenging, what kind of contest would it be? Anyway, I though of this song on Monday, when after the official closing ceremony of the Paralympics on Sunday, Britain was still celebrating and going with the show. After work, I was just walking near Buckingam Palace and I stumbled upon a crowd, as I said before I’ve been really busy in the last week or so, so I had no idea of what was going on, but saw that everyone was looking up at the sky so looked up myself. All of a sudden four huge helicopters came out of the blue, opening the way to the Red Arrows displaying the Union Jack colours. What a great moment! Took out my phone and instragramed the event…
For those of you who want to listen to the song to get some inspiration here’s the video!
And here’s the lyrics…
Empty spaces – what are we living for
Abandoned places – I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for…
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on
The show must go on, yeah
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays onWhatever happens, I’ll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for ?
I guess I’m learning (I’m learning learning learning)
I must be warmer now
I’ll soon be turning (turning turning turning)
Round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I’m aching to be free
The show must go on
The show must go on, yeah yeah
Ooh, inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays onYeah yeah, whoa wo oh oh
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly – my friends
The show must go on (go on, go on, go on) yeah yeah
The show must go on (go on, go on, go on)
I’ll face it with a grin
I’m never giving in
On – with the showOoh, I’ll top the bill, I’ll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the show
On with the show
The show – the show must go on
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on
Go on, go on
Let’s see how many of you take up the challenge! In the meanwhile, have a great weekend!
