History is full of walls… Walls built to protect kingdoms and kings, walls built to divide, enclose, enslave, walls used to express opinions and criticisms…
I’m not a fan of walls, yes they protect us from the dangers outside but they also prevent us to get in touch with the outer world, which usually is a cause of trouble.. Aren’t we afraid of what we don’t know? Walls just make sure we’ll never get rid of that fear.
The Berlin Wall is definitely one of the worst walls ever built, fortunately it was taken down, unfortunately we didn’t learn much from that experience since we’re still building walls around the world…
San Marino – Italy
Namur – Belgium

I agree with you about walls. However, your pictures are wonderful.
Thank you for stopping by
Absolutely! History is full of walls and walls are full of history! Thank you so much for sharing our “Walls” post.
Great choices for the walls!
Like so many things walls can be seen in many lights. I had to smile when I thought of how many ‘insignificant’ walls I’ve seen in my time thinking them to be beautiful. And how many I haven’t stopped to think about that surely were once symbols of fear and separation. Your post made me think….Thank you xx
That wall in Italy is beautiful. Some walls (not the Berlin wall) are really picturesque. And some have some great street art on them!
Wow – that San Marino shot is incredible!!
